Wind Turbine Generators

Black Peak 

For the Black Peak 2026 project, Eastship-MS Wind Logistics coordinated the logistics chain for the transportation of 25 Mingyang wind turbines from the Port of Constanta in Romania to Bor, Serbia.

Eastship-MS coordinated the port logistics and barge transportation required to move the 25 wind turbines towards the Black Peak project.

After discharge at Constanta Port, the components were moved into temporary storage according to dedicated storage plans. Cargo was subsequently shifted within the port and sequenced for loading onto the barges.

Barge transport for wind energy logistics

The Black Peak project required a controlled transition from ocean vessel discharge to temporary port storage, port cargo shifting and barge loading.

This type of operation requires more than arranging a vessel. The sequence of discharge, storage, cargo positioning, barge loading and securing has to be planned around the physical characteristics of the turbine components and the available deck space.

For Eastship-MS, the project brings together wind turbine logistics, port handling, barge chartering, cargo stowage, lashing engineering and customs coordination within one integrated project logistics scope.

Our scope included:

Discharge & cargo handling

Unloading the wind turbine components at Constanta Port and coordinating their handling within the terminal.

Temporary storage

Developing the storage plans for the turbine components and coordinating with the terminal for the allocation of suitable temporary storage areas between vessel discharge and barge loading

Port cargo shifting

Coordinating the internal movement of turbine components within the port and positioning each component according to the approved barge loading sequence.

Barge loading plans

Preparing detailed barge loading plans, taking into consideration cargo dimensions, weights, deck utilisation and loading sequence.

Lashing engineering

Developing cargo securing and lashing plans for the wind turbine components prior to departure.

Barge chartering

Selecting and chartering suitable barges for the turbine components and coordinating the required loading operations

Customs coordination

Coordinating the customs formalities required for the EU–non-EU movement of wind turbine components from Romania into Serbia, including the relevant procedures at the EU external border.

This project brings together port logistics, heavy cargo handling, barge chartering and transport engineering within a single wind energy logistics operation.

The Black Peak Wind Farm is a 150 MW wind power project in eastern Serbia, developed in the high mountain terrain near Bor. The wind farm comprises 25 Mingyang 6.25 MW wind turbines. The project is owned by SPIC and was developed by the local companies Sage and Kodar, with Clarion Owners Engineer providing supervision of the EPC contract. Black Peak is part of the growing wind energy development in Serbia and contributes to the expansion of renewable energy capacity in the region.
