Wind Turbine Generators

For the Deleni Wind Farm project, Eastship-MS Wind Logistics delivered specialized wind turbine transport and heavy logistics services for the movement of oversized wind energy components from Constanța Port to Vaslui County, Romania. The project required detailed engineering, route preparation, and coordinated transport operations for GE Vernova wind turbine components, including blades, towers, nacelles, and associated equipment.
The transport execution strategy was developed through comprehensive route surveys, swept path analysis, bridge and infrastructure assessments, and identification of critical transport constraints along the Constanța – Brăila – Vaslui corridor. Due to the dimensions of the cargo, including 77.4-meter wind turbine blades, the project required precise planning and continuous operational coordination.
Operations at Constanța Port included cargo handling, storage coordination, transport sequencing, and dispatch management to support the installation schedule of the 140 MW Deleni Wind Farm. Each transport configuration was engineered according to axle load calculations, transport geometry requirements, and local infrastructure limitations to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
The project scope also included oversized transport permit management, escort coordination, traffic management measures, and real-time supervision of convoy operations. Temporary infrastructure adaptations and road clearance works were implemented where required to facilitate uninterrupted transport of wind turbine components across public road infrastructure.
By combining transport engineering, project cargo expertise, and operational control, Eastship-MS Wind Logistics successfully supported the development of one of Romania’s largest renewable energy projects, contributing to the expansion of wind energy infrastructure in the Moldova region.

Temporary
Storage
Throughout the project, we provided temporary storage solutions to accommodate the logistics schedule, ensuring that all components were safely stored until they were needed on-site.
Handling customs clearance was a seamless process, thanks to our experienced team who ensured all documentation was in order.

Road transport
Road transport operations for the Deleni Wind Farm were executed in accordance with approved transport procedures and route engineering requirements, with continuous focus on operational safety, cargo stability, and infrastructure protection throughout all transport stages.
The transport fleet included 8x4 heavy-duty tractor units combined with specialized blade transport equipment for the movement of 77.4-meter wind turbine blades, while tower sections and additional oversized components were transported using modular trailer configurations adapted to the dimensional and axle load requirements of each cargo unit. Extendable and hydraulic trailer systems were utilized to ensure maneuverability across constrained infrastructure sections and complex road geometry.
Transport planning focused on route efficiency, optimized convoy configurations, and reduction of unnecessary transit distances in order to improve fuel efficiency, reduce operational impact, and maintain cost-effective execution of the logistics operation.

At the time of its construction, the Deleni Wind Farm represented the largest renewable energy production facility in the Moldova region of Romania. With an installed capacity of 140 MW, the project is expected to generate approximately 370 GWh of electricity annually, supporting the reduction of CO₂ emissions and contributing to the expansion of renewable energy generation capacity outside Romania’s traditional Dobrogea wind corridor.
